Mr. Levi H. Davis - Co Chairman 

 

For over 30 years, Levi Davis has been active in the North Texas community as a municipal government and business leader, as well as an educator. His responsibilities included such departments as the Police, Fire, Health & Human Services, Water Utilities, Streets & Sanitation, and Convention and Event Services. Mr. Davis held executive positions in the financial services industry at several investment banking firms and he also taught courses in public administration and government as an associate professor for several area colleges. In combination with

 

 

Mr. Thurston has over 27 years experience in the development industry building office, hotel, retail, Specialty entertainment (Snow Domes & Water Parks), multi and single-family properties. It is through his background and creative nature that The Grand Alps Resorts, a fourth generation Indoor Ski facility, has come to reality and continues the vision to ensure the next generation’s facility success throughout the world. Mr. Thurston provides leadership in the areas of strategic planning and design, Resort destination and hospitality development, owner representation and construction / project management.


   

 

 

Mr. Scheffer brings over 20 years of operational Leisure & Entertainment experience to the team. An accredited IAAPA Certified Attractions Executive, he has been involved with, and consulted on, the launch and/or operation of 6 indoor ski-domes in five different countries during the last 15 years. In addition to his passion for Indoor snow experiences, he has launched and operated an indoor waterpark and FEC & Bowling center. After 10 years with his middle eastern employer Mr. Scheffer left his Executive role at the Indoor Ski Facility in Dubai in June 2015 to join the Grand Alps team as Chief Operating Officer and will overlook the design of the indoor snow attraction, the launch of the resort and the operational aspects of the facilities post launch..

 

Mr. Heitzman has over 29 years of experience in commercial real estate specializing in site selection and store development in the shopping center industry throughout the United States. During his tenure at Brixmor Properties, he was responsible for all facets of leasing in eleven shopping centers consisting of more than two million square feet in the Dallas Fort Worth Area.

He coordinated and completed over 450,000 square feet of new leases and lease renewal transactions Mr. Heitzman is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr Heitzman’s network and experience will ensure that The Grand Alps builds partnerships with unique brands both in a retail, F&B and sponsorship setting.

his activities as Co Chairman at The Grand Alps Resort Group he is President and owner of Hamilton and Associates, a financial consulting firm specializing in urban financing and property development, and most recently was employed part-time as Special Assistant for Urban and Community Development to the President of University of North Texas at Dallas. Mr Davis’s experience with government and finances will facilitate the early phases of every Grand Alps Resort project.
